Natalie Wendig '09
Natalie (Gilbert) Wendig graduated from Alfred University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an Art Education degree in 2009. In June 2010 she married Matthew Wendig, also an Alfred University graduate from the School of Business. By December 2010 she completed her Masters of Educational Technology from SUNY Potsdam.
Following her degrees, she obtained her first teaching job at Watertown High School as a Studio Art Teacher. During this time, she started a photography studio out of her tiny living room apartment and the desire to go full-time into photography started to grow. With Matt’s encouragement, she made the decision to quit teaching and go full-time into photography. Before she could resign the school cut her position. It was meant to be.
Natalie’s Studio has been in operation since 2010 and has seen many changes, but owning her own creative business has always been exactly what Natalie needed at each changing stage in life. It has allowed Natalie to make money to invest in other endeavors, like the rental company her and Matt run, as well as added time flexibility to be home with the three children they now have and so much more.
Natalie earned a B.F.A. from Alfred University in 2009.
