On Friday, we celebrate the work of Jodie Mack with a program of her silent short films part of her "Matter Matters" program (5PM) in Holmes auditorium followed by the opening of her solo gallery show "Ultraviolet" in the Fosdick Nelson Gallery. Light Matter will also showcase works in the Harland Snodgrass and Immersive Galleries, so come out and celebrate Opening Night.
Saturday will introduce local audiences to both emerging and established moving-image artists from around the world with four short film program (12, 1:45, 3:30, 5:15) with each program running 60-80 minutes. We will cap off Saturday night with Jennifer Reeves's amazing new feature film THE GLORIA OF YOUR IMAGINATION, an archival documentary including 16mm film projection and video projection used to construct and re-imagine the lived experience of Gloria, a woman whose therapy sessions were featured in the controversial 1986 film "Three Versions of Psychotherapy." A tremendous historical re-imagining of Gloria alongside histories of feminism, psychology, and film.
Finally, on Sunday, we will have a trio of live film/media/sound performances beginning at 1 PM, featuring artists Rebekkah Palov, K/S/R, and the Carrier Band.
